WiEBE - Women in Engineering and the Built Environment

The UJ Group Five Women in Engineering and the Built Environment (WiEBE) Programme is committed to make Engineering and the Built Environment careers accessible to all women. Diversity produces organisational strength, leads to higher productivity and is strongly linked to innovation. WiEBE aims to create a community of women in engineering and technology that has the power to change and influence the sectors they work in.
In addition we aim to attract and retain women in these sectors with the objective of increasing South Africa’s competitive landscape.
SWiET - Society of Women in Engineering and Technology

The Society for Women in Engineering and Technology, better known as SWiET, is a society made up of self-motivated female students who all share a common love for engineering. One other quality that should be evident in these young ladies is that they are courageous, going against the norms by venturing into a study field formerly known as one for males. Furthermore, they are proud UJ students whose society objectives model an exceptional UJ student.
